The Green Assembly

On February 27, 2007 the Gunn Environmental Club hosted the first ever Green Assembly. The hour-long program included the following elements:

• A PowerPoint presentation by Stanford professor Stephen Schneider about global warming and its consequences,

• A short talk by Mayor Yoriko Kishimoto about the City of Palo Alto's movement toward sustainability
  

• A short film produced by Gunn student Kaitie Macknick (Saeshan Films) in conjunction with the Environmental Club entitled "Ten Simple Steps to Make Your Life More Green." The film went on to win Best of Festival at the Greenlight Earth Day Film Festival. Read the Palo Alto Weekly article Our Town: The kids go green, published May 30, 2007.
  

The next Green Assembly will take place in Spring 2009.
